The Week

It’s been a difficult week looking from my view down on the pavement.

It all started on Monday when the master and I had to suffer the horrible remnants from inconsiderate dog owner’s who don’t clear up behind them like the boss does. It drives me mad, I do NOT want to be putting my immaculate (and, may I tell you, in my view rather attractive) paws in some other dogs pooh. What is up with these dogs, they should be refusing to move until the deed is removed in some paper-thin plastic bag. Oh and taken home, not hung on some tree like dog-art! Him indoors is fanatical about clearing up behind me but I always make sure never to move until he’s set about his task. It’s part of the dog owning deal in his mind.

Tuesday evening we had some lovely folks over for dinner. I should mention that before dinner the boss had a tough afternoon. Which means I had a really tough afternoon.

Drain blocked outside kitchen. A nightmare because him indoors is the least practical bloke every created. No idea what to do apart from swearing a great deal. A kind neighbour tried to help out but to no avail. After god knows how long he was covered in mud and very smelly stuff that I wouldn’t go anywhere near plus he had cut his head open twice on the tap directly above the drain. He is truly incompetent. It wasn’t as if it had appeared by magic, was it? I tried to help by bringing him a ball and wagging my tail but he was not a nice man to know! Especially after he’d rung for outside help and found out they wanted £150 an hour to do the job!

He relaxed later (even started talking to me again after the ball incident) when his builder mate came and sorted it out to save him the £150’s!

It just so happened he was awake watching tv when that fire suddenly came on the news. We’d had a super dinner, which meant (1) I had loads of fish-skins to eat and (2) it was several whiskies and VERY late when he finally moved in a vaguely vertical motion up the stairs. I kept well clear, I tell you. You never quite know where he might land.

He somehow managed to put tv on whilst he finished his final whiskey, I settled down on the bottom of the bed and then boom! These pictures of a blaze appeared on screen. It was all too sad for words. Too sad. We’ve watched loads about it since but it does seem to me that 24 hr News can be a bit intrusive. This is devastating personal grief that surely is entitled to be private?

More lovely visitors on Wednesday – a touch of rib-eye steak for yours truly – with normality returning on Thursday. He has been out a lot delivering invites to a Festival do early evening next Tuesday for the Town Traders. For once, this week I was glad of the rest when he was out because its been far too hot for me. I’m rather partial to the cooler floor than the settee in this weather.

I hope you’re enjoying my doggie musings. If you do, please send a link to others so they have a little read. I hope I shall soon have my own email so that you can write to me direct and then you can ignore himself.

Woof! Woof!
