Million Dollar Bash
Everybody from right now, To over there and back, the louder they come, the harder they crack
Come now, sweet cream, Don’t forget to flash, We’re all gonna meet, At that million dollar bash
Springtime seems to have arrived. It’s been the great in the park these last few days and I feel like a bit of a puppy!! My ears are better and this bloody right hip doesn’t seem to be worse after my poorly paw a few weeks ago.
Him Indoors is also a bit of a puppy again. He’s been poorly but since the last time the surgeon played about with his insides, he gives the appearance of being very much better and rapidly approaching his old self. Thank goodness is all I can say because he has not been in good form since the New Year with this illness.
The bad news is he has recently been told that although he has been in such good form he has a major problem with a tumour in one of his kidneys. He is going to have to be operated upon again and have the entire kidney removed. His Nibs seems to have taken the news well but I am a bit worried about him.
I can tell when he is ok because the music becomes louder and more frequent, the tv and football appear less and he starts dancing with me round the living room. He told me the other day whilst Mr Springsteen was loudly entertaining the entire courtyard (so it seemed to my doggie ears) that he feels very privileged to have lived in the same times as Bob Dylan (The Maestro) and Bruce Springsteen (The Boss). “Listen to this” he enthuses to me, often forgetting my rear legs aren’t really designed for dancing.
Actually, I’m a bit worried that His Nibs seems to be getting back to his old self because it probably means he will be leaving me home alone more often. He’s been leaving a lot of Festival work to his arty pals whilst he’s been poorly but now I think he will taking it all up again. When he goes away for a couple of days (like when he was in hospital) the lovely, kind Miss Zynia comes and looks after me. Now you must understand I love her because she takes me on lots of the short walks I like. Plus, she knows where His Nibs keeps my treats.
The pair of them took me off to Wales recently for a few days. Miss Zynia walked me so often I became rather tired!! I gather they made pottery whilst we were there. I was allowed into the Pottery Studio where I found a warm patch over towards the kiln that rather suited me.
Him Indoors has been getting a bit excited about this new website where he has now put these musings of mine. I do understand that he likes the thought that all you lovely folks have a chance to see his paintings. Personally I think everybody will come to read my view from the pavement and only browse his paintings, but please don’t tell His Nibs that is what I think. He will send me back into quietness!
Rather inconsiderately, His Nibs went out on Coronation Day and left me at home with music playing. I never got to see any of those fine costumes being featured which rather disappointed me as I quite like a good parade. Even worse he didn’t make me any coronation treats!!!
Finally, His Nibs is off to see his consultant next week. I do hope he gets told that all the bad news is over. Much as I love Miss Z coming over to look after me, I must confess I missed him when he was absent those two times he went in hospital. I can be a bit of a worrier about him., I must be honest.
I’ve been to be clipped and shampooed today in preparation for our visit to Devon in a couple of weeks. Now I do know that my shampoo smell will have disappeared by that time, but I do look a million dollar dog which is very appropriate as we are going to Salcombe. Are they ready for me, do you think?
Woof! Woof!
