Trust yourself to find the path where there is no if and when; if you want somebody you can trust, trust yourself

When in life you life find something you believe in, and then you can teach it, or lead others in it or put it into practice for yourself every day of your life, then you are one fortunate person. This thought came to me as I looked over the Bosses shoulder at some Facebook posts by a couple of his friends. Inevitably these friends are ladies – Lucie and Julie in this case. What is it with the Guvnor? Attractive ladies, he’s done for!!!

They had recently qualified in some skills and were obviously radiantly happy (rather like me when the ball is being thrown for me in Jubilee Gardens) at their success. Not only does it prove success is a good thing to achieve, they were already writing about how they could help others in their future careers. That is storming stuff.

I have had quite a bit of time on my own because the Boss is so busy with his Festival stuff. I gather I won’t be attending (it appears there is no room for a well behaved springer spaniel in the hospitality suite) which, frankly, I consider a bloody cheek bearing in mind the hours I have put in to this venture for the town! I have little doubt I would be better behaved than all his Festival Partners drinking down the wine and exchanging ribald jokes at his expense. But there we are!

I’ve read the papers a lot (because he’s been out) and watched a fair bit of TV in last couple of weeks. Let me ask. Does anybody understand why our so-called leaders are making such hard work of this Brexit thing?

I heard this bloke Juncker pontificating about “federal Europe” and thought that was rather a good reason to leave. But then this Corbyn bloke seemed to reckon we could “leave” whilst “staying”!! How the **** does that work then? Surely we can just say “ we’re off in March, goodbye”. This is what I say to Timmy, the King Charles I meet in Jubilee Gardens, – “we’re off, I need my breakfast. Goodbye”. He’s not offended. Where’s the problem?

We had a lovely visitor last week, the author Barney Hoskyns. The Boss thought he knew a bit about music, but Barney was like an encyclopedia! Look folks, just accept that in his world anybody who has interviewed The Band and Lucinda Williams is one of THE most important human beings on earth! Ever! I missed his talk (no dogs allowed, this world can be utter shit sometimes) and dinner afterwards. But apparently Barney, Chris and Roy kept him indoors entertained for two hours with their music industry stories (Van Morrison featured). Barney loved dogs and his generosity to me on the cheese front will stay with me for a long time. I hope he returns soon.

I’m not sure I’ve been forgiven for staying away with Auntie Karen recently. He threw this bag of crisps at me the other day and said “see, your lady mate didn’t give you crisps, only a good walk around Wales”. Plus, he’s been very cosy to me since I came home, stroking my neck and saying “my best mate” several times.

You see, ultimately through it all, you really only can “trust yourself”.

Woof! Woof!

Ps: Don’t you just love the words of The Maestro, Bob Dylan. He is such an inspiration to me.

Introducing ourselves. We visit Susan and Ian at least twice a week and in the summer nearly every afternoon so we know them very well.
I am the handsome chap in charge of the household and in general when I deign to respond to commands it’s to the call of Paddy. When you know you should really be obedient is if an inflection in the voice is accompanied by the cry Patrick….Susan has been heard doing this frequently this summer. I like soil and digging what can I say pfft flower beds.
My name is Maggie Moo or noodle do.
I prefer Princess Margaret, Susan named me that. I am an anxious dog and was rescued. Between us, I’m Susan’s favourite she adores me.
Phew this is a long monologue , anyway we both know all about you Dylan you’ve been to stay here.
Susan loves the old goat who lodges with you. Ian enjoys his company and really looks forward to seeing him. Ian loves dogs they both cherished some Great Danes once.
Note to Trevor. No idea how to add images. Gosh I wish you had set up a faceache page for him instead!

Well hello Paddy and Maggie Moo. Thanks for writing to me, please keep me posted on your terrorising of your friends. I had a lovely time when I stayed with them. I’ll talk to Him Indoors about coming down to see you. He’s a bit slow this morning, I’m ready to go out but he’s barely capable of movement it appears. Stay happy chaps Woof! Woof!
